Portraits are painted from clients photo(s) and are signed by the artist. The quality, detail, and realism of your pet's portrait will be greatly enhanced by the quality of the photos that you provide. Please choose a well-detailed photo that depicts exactly how you want your pet posed in the painting. Your pet's head should be at least 2" tall in the photograph to ensure the most accurate detail.
Your pet's eyes are a crucial part of the portrait. The lifelike qualities of your pet’s eyes are the characteristic that bring out the personality and realism of the painting. Please provide photos that illustrate their eyes clearly with accurate color. Photos specifically taken for the painting should be taken outside in natural light, if possible. Please take care in positioning yourself at the animal's eye level so that you are not "on top" of them. Position your pet so the sun is at your back and is shining directly on them, or at a slight angle to their profile. Never take a photograph with the sun behind your pet’s body or it will obscure their image. Take several shots with the flash both on and off to highlight the details of your pet’s eyes.
